  • Fresh Ideas for CalFresh Retailers w/ American Heart Association + LA Food Policy Council

Challenges “to accepting EBT” CalFresh is the first line of defense against hunger. Not only are there challenges to enrolling in the program, but retailers have a hard time applying to serve communities too. TABLE, LAFPC and the American Heart Association want more CalFresh offerings in our communities. This event explores how to make that happen. Join us as we learn more about the challenges to accepting EBT. Together, we are developing a learning community towards collective solution-building.

Why Focus on Retailers? Addressing the obstacles for retailers, such as corner stores and farmers' market operators, is essential for the success of CalFresh. Highlighting the root causes, the consequences and the potential solutions of these barriers will deepen the conversation around CalFresh gaps. Through conversations like these, we are hoping to make CalFresh more accessible for all.
