Our Team
Nina Angelo, co-founder (she/her/hers)
Nina grew up in Atwater Village and studied Justice and Sustainability at UC Berkeley’s College of Natural Resources, focusing specifically on food systems, justice and movement building. In the Bay, she was able to embody revolutionary food futures and developed a radical food lens, gained through immersion into the Bay’s legacy of food justice.
Nina managed the Atwater Village Farmers’ Market for about 3 years. Here, Nina gained a deep understanding of the importance of local farmers and vendors to our nourished survival. With relationship building always centered, Nina knows how to build and run markets that uplift the vendor and the customer.
In addition to TABLE, Nina organizes food distributions at Polo’s Pantry and is dedicated to food justice and movement building. Nina was part of Los Angeles Food Policy Council’s Food Leaders Lab in 2022 and was their Food Justice Fellow in 2022/23.
The food traditions of her home city are defined by street vendors, mom & pop shops and local cooks. Through TABLE, Nina hopes to support the people who keep the LA that she knows and loves alive.
Pratnya, co-founder (she/her/hers)
Pratnya grew up in Hollywood and studied Communications: Rhetoric + Social Change, Gender, & Asian-American Studies at Cal State LA. In her academic career she studied food justice and its implementation through community gardens and the local food economy.
Pratnya managed the Hollywood Farmers’ Market which is a Los Angeles staple. It is made up of 150 plus vendors and over 5k guests who shop every Sunday to support farmers, food makers, and artisans. Pratnya facilitated everything behind the scenes of the Hollywood Farmers’ Market. She focused on building efficient systems that are necessary to best serve the public and vendors.
Pratnya comes from a background in the larger food world. She has served in fine dining restaurants, built community gardens through a food justice club in college, and was one of SUPRMRKT’s first interns. Her experience within different food sectors allows her to make connections and develop ways to co-create and build spaces for thriving environments.
TABLE is a bridge between Pratnya’s academic and professional experiences, working to support the LA community she is born and raised out of.
